About Shantae Latrese

There is no place like home! That is exactly what I hear when I tell people I was raised in Topeka, Kansas; amongst other things like – Oh, so you from Kansas City? As if, there is not a state called Kansas. I was born in Butler, Missouri – which I do not even think is on the map. At the age of 21, I decided to move to Dallas, Texas and see what life was about. Five years of living it up in Dallas, I decided why not give Los Angeles, California a shot! I mean, what is the worse that could happen? Single with no kids, I was willing to sleep in my car if I had to! Fast forward, I met my King 3 months after moving to Los Angeles, and I never let him forget how he stole my LA single life, haha! No, but on a serious note, he is AMAZING and we have a handsome 2 year old boy named Kyson Mekhi. I started my Youtube journey shortly after moving to LA, I really wanted to document my new LIFE. Let me just say, LA was a huge culture shock for me. I quickly saw the difference from the southern hospitality feel you get in Texas and the self absorbed hustla mentality in California. Let me also say that I have become that self absorbed hustla, but not intentionally! You see, in Los Angeles, the struggle can be real when your not filthy rich. To give you an idea, we pay $2700 for a 2 bedroom apartment in Long Beach, CA…. my 1 bedroom apartment was $750 in Texas, and $450 in Kanasas. Nothing could have hit me bigger than realizing that the people whom actually buy homes in California end up renting out multiple rooms in order to pay their mortgage! I could really go on, but this is about ME!

I hope you enjoy my blog post – don’t be a stranger, drop a comment and let me know you were here!
